Geoff and Marsha Wood started their coffee trailer in June 2018 after praying about whether Marsha should leave her job in logistics, Geoff said. They ran the trailer at Deacon Baldy’s, a food truck park on FM 1488 in Magnolia, until Geoff was offered a job with a local property management company.

However, Geoff said the boss would only hire him if he built a coffeehouse on the property, an office complex located at 33130 Magnolia Circle, Magnolia, behind an H-E-B. Geoff said he was skeptical about the location.

Yet he took the job in November 2020, and he and Marsha opened Hebrews Coffeehouse in February. Once the company started selling coffee flights, an assortment of four specialty coffees, they had to change their whole business model to accommodate its popularity, Geoff said.

“We went from six employees to about 28 employees in about two months,” Geoff said.

Geoff said he and his wife wanted to stay a mobile coffee shop, but their overall desire was to see people connect and build relationships. Geoff said they have been able to accomplish that with the storefront in ways that were not possible before.

“Once we had a coffeehouse and people were coming into that house-type environment and then you start to see relationships flourish, that’s what makes our hearts beat,” Geoff said. “Coffee was a catalyst for that.”

Other than coffee, the restaurant offers food, such as avocado toast, a Monte Cristo sandwich and cinnamon rolls. Geoff said they change the specialty coffees on their flights every two weeks. Geoff said the Magnolia community and people from across the state—and even the country—have flocked to the restaurant, showing their support. As a result, he said he and Marsha are looking at Old Town Spring for a possible second location.

“It’s an incredible environment that we can’t take all the responsibility for,” Geoff said. “It’s really the community and the people; you can tell they’re the ones really driving this madness, even on social media.”
